This rigid 24 inch cardboard splint is ready to go with creases for ease of use. Immobilization of a broken bone with a splint should be done as soon as possible to prevent further damage or complications. Cardboard splints are an inexpensive versatile splint to work with. You can easily cut to modify or adapt to the injured limb. Keeping broken bones stable will also provide comfort for the patient. Consider ice packs for swelling. Do not apply ice directly on skin, insulate with a gauze dressing first. These are the same splints we use in all our Disaster Survival Kits.
