Benzalkonium Chloride Antiseptic wipes and towelettes also known as BZK wipes should be present in every first aid kit. Our wipes are alcohol-free and clean without the sting. They are very handy for cleaning out small injuries such as scrapes, cuts and abrasions and even minor burns before sticking on a bandage.
It is a good idea to wipe cuts and scrapes with a sterile antiseptic wipe even if you are applying an ointment, like a triple antibiotic, to the wound. Infections can be terrible, and can come from the smallest neglected scrape, so every bit of help is valuable.
First Aid update: Hydrogen Peroxide is no longer a part of first aid care. Use BZK wipes in place of alcohol which can damage tissue and is painful.
Great alternative to cleaning wounds when regular soap and water are unavailable. Store at room temperature if possible. If stored in warmer environments remember to change yearly so they don’t dry out before you need them.
